Jun 3, 2019 · I previously had a 6" grizzly jointer with parallelogram tables and spiral cutterhead. It served me well for many years. I started looking at 12" stand-alone jointers and those get pretty long; a problem for the limited space I have. The compactness of the combo units was very attractive and I looked at many, including Jet and Grizzly. For instance, the G0634XP 12" J/P with spiral cutter head is $2195 with $144 for freight for a total of $2339. Lift gate service is another $34 which brings the total to $2373. The price for the Platinum Series 12" Jointer/Planer w/ SCH $3245 before shipping and liftgate service is added.I have the Grizzly 12" combo machine. It is a fantastic machine. It does exactly what it is supposed to. Pro It has a spherical cutter head, almost no tear out. The jointer gets the stock so flat that when squaring the edge the stock sucks right up to the fence.
