Got an update for y'all, I can craft still craft a couch lance with both thrust and swing damage (using Swordstaff head), the head, shaft AND guard affect whether it can couch. Couching glaives are awesome, pity couching is only minorly useful. The swings are usually easier/safer to use and oneshot anything anyway.

Glaives are too long to be used effectively in siege battles. Also, this sword is fast enough to land two swings (possibly killing 2 enemies) where a glaive would land one, all while equipping a shield and being effective against breaking shields itself. There's literally no point in using a glaive in a siege battle regardless of the situation.

What I like about the Long Glaive: Good damage and range to be able to "harass" in close combat the ennemy cavalry without risking to die. Also, in comparison, this custom weapon has -5 length, +1 swing speed, and +1 handling. It can have even more stats when the "master smith" perk triggers. My "masterwork" variant stats: Weight: 1.4.
