I got a pretty good idea of what I'm doing from nioh 1, bit I joined the fray late. I do know my ideal build is a kunai sword master hybrid. So far on my 2nd play through of nioh 2 the Kato armor with kunai/ninjutsu power/untouched seems to be going well with my primary skill allocations being heart and dex. If mixing sets, sarutobi is best. If going full 7 piece, hayabusa is the strongest. Myself... i used mage gear for my ninja, but he was a magic ninja.Once past that, on NG+3 / Dream of the Wise, some of the true endgame builds get unlocked. By that point, you are no longer tied to any particular build or playstyle. You can play Ninjutsu, Magic, melee, practically anything you want.
