Jun 20, 2022 · The Kat Eyz has a "top gate", if I'm interpreting what you mean correctly - the top unclamps and then swings open to get the capo on and off. But it's not a particularly easy opening type of clamp, so if I can't find a way to comfortably leave it on, behind the nut, I'll likely just resort to using a G7th or one of my other "C" type side ... IMHO, with capos, less is more. I have a variety in a variety of different materials including Elliott, KatEyz, Crary, Colorado, Paige, Shubb, G7, John Pearse, Hlavaty, Paige and some other yoke-styles showing no brand name. I use one of those half inch wide leather straps with a button on it on the headstock just beyond the nut (again, like lots or people).
