I've tried almost every notable capo out there with the exception of Elliotts, which I admit is a pretty major omission, but also a very expensive one and one with a long wait time.

The McKinney-Elliott capo is a small objet d'art of form and function. As noted, it is a precision stainless steel machine, solid, handmade, and elegant looking. And it also functions like few others: I learned from bluegrass players to place my McKinney (1993) directly on the fret, just back of center.I’m also a big fan of the push button but the screw is where Elliott falls short to me. Much more resistance than kat eyez or collins. If you found one for the price of a stainless kat eyez you got an incredible deal. They’re $215 for an elite these days. Apr 11, 2015 · Kat Eyz capo that, because of the 'V' design of the adjustable neck pad, automatically centers itself on your fingerboard when you tighten the thumbscrew. The Kat Eyz has a 1/4" screw which makes it quicker to spin up AND limits the amount of pressure immediately applied.
