Even when people are testing every 48 hours at 4/5 weeks there’s still so much variation between test brands and even different batches within the same brand. By 8 weeks your HCG is too high to be using line progression at all, it won’t just keep getting darker/pulling dye from the control line indefinitely.

Getting a lighter test is not a great sign (it can be a sign of a chemical pregnancy).
