There’s a cam adjuster on the side of the head (on the timing cover, circular part with a 2 pin connector, 3 bolts) that gets gunked up and stops adjusting timing correctly and causes all the issues/codes you’re having.A lot of people drive their cars like that all the time, especially with standard transmissions. I was under the impression that sport mode (via the shifter) only changes the shift points. The manual states I can use regular too but premium is recommended. The fuel door states that I should only use octane minimum 91 or 94, which is premium. I get worse gas milage with regular because I tend to compensate for lack of power by accelerating harder.
