One advantage of the Thuma bolsters is that you have a choice of raising the pillowboard by 4" or 6". "Ideal" all depends on the height of your mattress. My mattress is 14 1/2" high and the yoga blocks are 6" high, raising the pillowboard by that amount. IMO, the height is now perfect.
