I just got an extended mag release for my 43x. Mainly got it for the aesthetics and in anticipation of getting the S15 mags when Shield Arms catch up to their back orders, hopefully by the end of September. Long story short, everything on the gun is easy to take apart and put together except the mag release.
The definitive answer seems to be, if you use the S15's you use the steel mag catch. If you use the OEM mags shouldn't use the Shield Arms mag catch. Scratched the fuck out of the inside of my grip. Get a right angle pick and just be patient. I used a small pick but mine was too thick at the tip to fit behind the spring so ended up using a very small bread scoring knife. Worked like a charm.
