The previous reply used to be true, but Elder God arrows have made bows much more powerful than they used to be, and you might see better results with something like a Noxious Longbow compared to Ascension crossbows in the current PvM meta. Seren Godbow is actually a great main weapon now since chargebows can still benefit from arrow effects.
