A water rower is a good chunk faster than a C2, we use water rowers (M1 Highrise) at my gym and I pulled a 1:29 500m (31yo female, 5'9 in ok but not great shape). I think it's at least 15 seconds faster split wise. Hm. Both ergs should be (theoretically) measuring the same power output, barring any differences in resistance.
